Details Med/Surg unit at a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital Pulmonary/Med Surg patient population, including COVID-positive patients 23-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 Administers heparin drips Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week option available) Every other or every third weekend required depending on staffing/census No on-call requirements Required to float across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required Current AHA or ARC BLS certification required Minimum 24 months of current Med/Surg experience required Pulmonary patient care experience required Experience with pulmonary/ventilated patients on bi-pap and trach care highly preferred Recent/current charge nurse experience required Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience highly preferred Driver's license required for consideration Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed Limited RTO requests permitted during peak holiday periods First-time travelers will be considered if the 2 year Med/Surg experience requirement is met Local candidates not accepted within 50 miles of the facility Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from travel assignments at other UPH markets per separation policy American Traveler Job ID P-780995.
