Applicants must have worked in this unit or setting within the past year to be considered for this position. Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology / Med-Surg Location Bismarck, ND | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days (0700–1930) and Nights (1900–0730) available | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed | No call or standby requirement Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Med-Surg/Oncology unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including stroke, HTN, COPD, CHF, A-fib, chest pain, AMS/behavioral, and surgical overflow Administer and monitor chemotherapy as a core staff function; no oncology provider is on-site during the day Titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin per unit protocols Manage patients with BiPAP (stable) and established tracheostomies with blow-by oxygen Utilize telemetry packs and collaborate with monitor techs for strip interpretation; RNs are not required to independently read and interpret strips Float to other Med-Surg units as needed; tele-certified RN will cover strip interpretation if floated to a telemetry unit Required Qualifications Active RN license valid for practice in North Dakota Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Candidates may not currently hold full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health Requested time off (7 days or fewer) must be submitted upfront prior to or at the time of submission; additional RTO will not be approved during the 13-week contract Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with tracheostomy care and BiPAP management Experience titrating Lasix drips Telemetry experience is a plus First-time travelers are welcome to apply Why Join Us Supportive, family-oriented unit culture where travelers are welcomed as part of the team Charge nurse and monitor techs available on each shift to provide resources and support Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 798807.
