Details Med/Surg Tele unit setting Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Patient population includes orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses on a telemetry unit Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Pyxis medication system used Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required 2 years of experience in specialty required (3 years required for first-time travelers) Minimum 1 year of recent experience within the unit Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols Experience with oxygen administration via nasal cannula and EKG testing Additional Information Provide direct patient care for orthopedic, bariatric, and telemetry patients Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergent dysrhythmias Administer medications via Pyxis system and manage IV/central lines Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials First-time travelers considered with 3 years of specialty experience Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs American Traveler Job ID P-767493.
