Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Location Omaha, NE | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts | Self-scheduling (subject to unit balancing) | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required | No RTO approved over holidays Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a patient population that includes cardiology, surgical oncology, urology, and complex general Med/Surg cases Manage a patient assignment of 1:5–6, delivering safe and effective nursing care across a wide variety of diagnoses and acuity levels Monitor and manage IV fluid (IVF) drip administration; ability to read basic telemetry strips required Operate and manage respiratory support equipment including nasal cannula, trach collar, and supplemental oxygen up to 6L in acute situations Participate in an academic environment with a willingness to precept and support the learning of other staff members Float to other units as needed based on skill level; charge nurse responsibilities may apply for those with relevant experience Required Qualifications Active RN license in good standing Current BLS certification required Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify candidate address for radius compliance) Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Candidates currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health are not eligible Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required as a condition of the contract Preferred Experience / Skills Experience caring for a broad range of patient populations including cardiology, oncology, and urology Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips Prior charge nurse or house supervisor experience is a plus Comfort working in an academic medical setting and willingness to serve in a preceptor role Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a dynamic academic medical environment that values both clinical excellence and professional development Self-scheduling model offers flexibility within a structured unit-balancing framework Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 798034.
