Details Medical Surgical unit with a focus on renal patients Patient ratio of 1:6-7 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation No on-call responsibilities May float to other med/surg units as needed Uses Epic for charting Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required Experience with renal failure, feeding tube care, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring preferred Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols Experience administering oxygen and nasal cannula care Experience responding with Rapid Response/Code teams preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg patients including those with renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal conditions Royal blue scrubs required Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted Previous MUSC staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed Travelers may be asked to join emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November) American Traveler Job ID P-781146.
