Job Summary The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical unit. This role requires a blend of clinical skills, patient education, and a commitment to enhancing the overall well-being of diverse patient populations.

General Information Unit: MedSurg/6E Unit Type: Medical Surgical Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years Certifications: BLS Certification required Unit Overview Number of Beds: 28 Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 Common Diagnoses: Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, and Complex General Medical-Surgical Patients Nurse Aide Ratios: 1:10-14 Equipment Used: Nasal cannula ( Telemetry: Yes, with centralized monitoring techs; RNs are able to read basic strips Responsibilities The role involves providing direct patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to best practices in patient safety and quality of care. The Registered Nurse will also be expected to educate patients and their families about their health conditions and treatment plans.

Scheduling and Requirements Shift Schedule: 12-hour self-scheduling shifts, as determined by management for unit balancing Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Yes, with no requests for time off approved over holidays Floating Requirements: Based on skill level Orientation New hires will receive 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation to familiarize themselves with policies, procedures, and systems in place.

Driver's License: Required upon submission.

Exam Requirement: RN candidates must pass an open book exam at orientation with a minimum score of 90% to avoid termination.
