This position will involve providing specialized care for newborns in a Level 3 NICU, including the management of critical and complex cases.

Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Rotate in with core staff for major holidays Scrub Color: Navy; under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional and must be navy.

Qualifications Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a NICU setting.

Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).

Preferred Experience: Pediatric experience with a focus on neonatal care. Patient Demographics The NICU unit serves approximately 26-30 infants and handles a variety of conditions, primarily focusing on: Respiratory failure Preterm infants Operational Details EMR System: Cerner Charge Nurse Responsibilities: Typically does not take patients but provides break relief.

Nurse Aides: Available, depending on census and staffing needs.

Floating: May be required to float to other facilities within the region as staffing needs dictate.

Orientation: 1-2 days on the unit with a preceptor. Additional Notes This facility holds a "baby-friendly" designation and offers excellent breastfeeding support. The NICU works collaboratively with Hospitalists and Intensivists who are present on-site 24/7, with Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy also available around the clock for support.
