Job Title Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Every other weekend required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (up to 5:1 when stretched) Perform neurological and spinal assessments, including C-collar placement and TLSO brace management Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement Administer blood transfusions and monitor patients requiring tracheostomy care Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed Required Qualifications Active RN licensure in good standing ACLS certification required BLS certification required NIHSS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience Neuro and trauma care experience required Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in a Progressive Care, Stepdown, or IMC setting Familiarity with Cerner EMR Experience with patient lifts and Skylift equipment Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a well-staffed, structured PCU environment with clear unit guidelines and a supportive team Gain valuable experience in neuro and trauma care within a high-acuity progressive care setting Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 797808.
