Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU Scheduling Details Shift Hours: 3x12s, nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Charting: Epic experience required Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks Required License & Certifications ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Pending License Accepted: Yes, for candidates with a single-state license from a non-compact state Required Clinical Skills Experience in Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Use of Rapid Response and Code teams Administration of cardiac drips with no titration IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration Central/peripheral line care Competency in chest tubes and trach care PICC line management and medication administration Respiratory skills including nasal cannula and oxygen administration CPAP, BiPAP, and non-invasive airway management Unit Details Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 (Goal is 4:1; mostly 5:1) Telemetry is remote, but monitors remain on the unit Telemetry sitting is implemented for additional support Floating: Will require floating within skillset About the Facility This leading acute care facility is located in Roanoke, VA.
