Details Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on a 43-bed all-private-room Orthopedic unit (6 Ortho) Patient population includes medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma fracture cases Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights PCTs staffed at a 1:7-8 ratio Uses EPIC EMR Primary charge RN on each shift plus 24/7 house supervisor coverage House-wide telemetry pack monitors (Phillips brand), RNs read their own strips RT equipment includes CPAP and heated high flow as needed 12-hour night shifts Every other weekend required (Sat/Sun days, Fri/Sat nights) No call or standby requirements Travel RNs float first when needed, typically to similar Med/Surg floors Two days of unit/department specific orientation Requirements Active IL RN license required BLS certification (AHA) required 2 years of RN experience required 1-2 years of postop surgical and general med surg experience preferred Experience with telemetry monitoring and basic RT equipment troubleshooting Additional Information Provide postoperative orthopedic and general med surg nursing care Troubleshoot RT equipment such as CPAP and high flow devices as needed Adult professional appearance required; any scrub color permitted; tattoos and piercings must be covered Local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility No radius rule restricting eligibility First-time travelers may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-781632.
