Details 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit admitting patients from the ED, transfers, or direct physician admission Patient population includes CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, EtOH, and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities, plus occasional surgical patients Manages patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips, as well as NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max 5) on Day/Evening shifts and 1:5-6 on Nights Day shift includes a dedicated Charge RN without a patient assignment on weekdays 36 hours per week on a rotating schedule (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) with every other weekend required Night shift positions do not rotate Floating required to applicable units as needed Uses EPIC for charting Requirements Active MA RN license required (conditional/pending licenses not accepted) AHA BLS and ACLS certification required Telemetry certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience in one location plus 2 years of travel RN experience required Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips required Knowledge of cardiac drips required Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patient care preferred but not required Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy medical telemetry unit including cardiac drip management and post-procedural monitoring Free on-site parking is available for this position Local candidates accepted with a 60-mile radius rule from the facility in Boston, at a reduced rate American Traveler Job ID P-763500.
