Openings: 2 travel ICU RN positions Orientation: 36 hours ICU Registered Nurse Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a qualifying compact-state license in hand at the time of submission At least 1.5 years of recent Intensive Care Unit or critical care nursing experience Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and intensive nursing interventions Charting system experience preferred; experience with any electronic health record is acceptable Must live more than 50 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not eligible Availability for the full contract period and disclosure of all requested time off at submission ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit during overnight shifts Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and monitor patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure Manage arterial lines, central lines, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications Care for mechanically ventilated patients and provide BiPAP and CPAP management Interpret arterial blood gases and perform suctioning of endotracheal and nasotracheal airways Apply appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care-plan updates in the electronic health record Apply now for this travel ICU Registered Nurse opportunity in Westwood, New Jersey, near New York City.
