Details Medical Surgical unit in a Magnet and Teaching Level I Trauma Center hospital Acute medicine population including diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule outs, and non-active chemo cancer patients Unit does not care for surgical patients Patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30 Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required within scope and service line to meet facility needs Epic charting system used Must be able to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence) BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Med/Surg or MS/Tele experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and isolation precautions required Must meet facial hair grooming standards to accommodate fit testing Additional Information Provide direct patient care to a medically acute patient population with diverse comorbidities Navy blue scrubs required First-time travelers are welcome to apply No RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment, and no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted Returning permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service American Traveler Job ID P-772693.
