Job Details Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU RN Employment Type: Travel Nursing Start Date: November 2, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts Shift Pattern: Days and nights available; weekday and some weekend coverage Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Setting: Adult cardiovascular critical care with a 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratio Location: Columbus, Ohio Job Requirements Active RN license in hand at time of submission Minimum 1 year of recent critical care nursing experience required; 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred BLS and ACLS required Epic EMR experience required NIHSS certification preferred or required based on unit needs Experience with ventilators, Swan-Ganz monitoring, telemetry, vasoactive drips, and cardiac care strongly preferred Ability to float within equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed Comfort with rotating holidays and weekend coverage Previous travel nursing experience preferred Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate care to adult CVICU patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions Monitor and manage hemodynamic status, telemetry, ventilators, and advanced cardiac equipment Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to patient needs and provider orders Support post-operative cardiac patients, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, and transplant-related care Perform critical nursing interventions such as IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration Respond quickly to changes in condition and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established unit protocols Float to comparable units within the organization when required Location Highlights Columbus offers a welcoming Midwest atmosphere with excellent dining, parks, arts, and entertainment options The 43210 area places you near a major academic and medical hub with convenient city access A great opportunity for nurses seeking Columbus healthcare jobs and growth in critical care nursing Apply now for this CVICU travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio, and advance your critical care career with a rewarding healthcare team.
