The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to educate and support both patients and nursing staff.

Unit Information Unit Type: Labor and Delivery Average Births: 200-240 per month Beds: 9 L&D beds plus 7 triage beds Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Aiming to follow AWHONN guidelines; 1:2 for magnesium sulfate patients Shift Information Shift Length: 12 hours Shift Schedule: Primarily day shifts (7a), with the requirement of working 2 weekends every 4 weeks and holidays as needed Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Qualifications 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery Required Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) BLS (Basic Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) AWHONN Intermediate EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) Role Responsibilities Circulate C-sections and provide care for antepartum patients. Adhere to baby-friendly practices and support the "golden hour" bonding period. Conduct hourly rounds and maintain meticulous documentation. Provide bedside report and coordinate with OB techs and other healthcare professionals. Participate in education and training of newer nurses.

Additional Information Strong IV skills are essential as there is an IV Team available. RT and Pharmacy support are available 24/7. Floating to postpartum may be required as per staffing needs.

The unit supports a diverse patient population, including a high percentage of Hispanic clients. A satellite NICU (Level 2) is available within the facility for high-risk deliveries.
