This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for a diverse population, including cardiology, surgical oncology, urology, and complex general medical surgical patients.

Unit Information Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)

Number of Beds: 28 Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 Nurse Aids Ratio: 1:10-14 Common Diagnoses: Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Complex general Med Surg patients Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive patient care and support. Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and monitor patient responses. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.

Qualifications Years of Experience: 2 years minimum Required Certification: BLS Certification Experience: Ability to care for a wide variety of patients.

Experience in an academic institute is preferred with a willingness to teach and learn.

Work Schedule Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Yes Self-scheduling with unit manager approval for optimal balance. Employment Guidelines Every RN is required to complete a pass/fail exam during orientation. This open-book exam covers skills learned, with a passing score of 90% required. Candidates must adhere to the fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas. All candidates must have a valid driver's license, as it will be used for eligibility verification based on travel distance. Additional Notes This position does not require titration of drips. The unit has centralized monitoring techs, and RNs are trained to read basic telemetry strips. Orientation for this unit typically lasts 1-2 days.
