Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Neuro MedSurg/Telemetry RN — Assignment Details Unit: 22-bed Neuro unit Requirements At least 2 years of strong MedSurg/Telemetry experience Neuro experience and 1 completed travel assignment required Active Illinois RN license; active temporary IL license accepted AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS Recent Epic experience required Strong neuro assessment, critical thinking and teamwork skills Schedule and patient care Patients: Stroke/CVA, spine and back/neck surgery, cerebral angiogram and general medical overflow Ratios: Typically 1:4; may increase to 1:5 for two nurses when medical census is high Skills: NIHSS, dysphagia screening, telemetry interpretation, strict intake/output, catheter care, blood administration, venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes and drain management Drips: Stable drips; no amiodarone or Cardizem. Heparin initiation/titration is listed separately and needs clarification.
