Job Summary Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in the Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details Unit: MedSurg 7th Floor Unit Type: Medical Surgical Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in acute care nursing Patient Ratios: 1:4/5 Days and 1:5/6 Nights Patient Population: Medical, Surgical, and Sepsis Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients. Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform patient assessments. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and standards while delivering quality care. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management. Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling to meet staffing needs.

Qualifications Required Certifications: BLS (AHA)

Experience: Two years of acute care nursing experience is mandatory.

Skills: Competence in reading telemetry strips, with support from telemetry technicians.

Floating Requirements: May be required to float within designated zones based on departmental needs. Work Environment The RN will work in an environment with a total of 37 beds, utilizing Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment for patient observation. The role includes moderate oxygen needs and may involve the use of analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives. Schedule and Weekend/Holiday Requirements Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week period. Holiday shifts are also required as part of the position. Dress Code The dress code for the unit is navy blue scrubs. Orientation Specific orientation dates and locations will be assigned during the week of orientation. Candidates are expected to be present for the entire orientation week.
