Details Progressive Care Unit (step down) and Med Surg unit with 23 step-down beds and 16 med-surg beds Patient ratios of 1:3-4 on step down and 1:4-6 on med surg Day shift staffed with 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 PCTs; night shift with 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs Equipment used includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, ventilators for stable vented patients, and tracheostomy care Typical procedures include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes Uses Cerner EMR Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM Floating required to other med surg and progressive care units Weekend requirement of 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts within a 6-week period Requirements Active RN license, NC or compact, required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required Experience working with tracheostomy patients required Previous Cerner EMR experience preferred No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required Additional Information Provide direct patient care including trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes on a progressive care and med surg unit Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and strong clinical competence Navy blue scrubs required Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-780167.
