Details Neuroscience ICU unit setting Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 13-week assignment length Candidates will float within scope if needed Uses Epic charting system Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions Requirements Active VA or compact state RN license required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required, 2 years preferred BSN preferred Epic charting experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred Skills required: respiratory/thoracic care, care of ventilated patients, medication administration, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, neurological care ICP monitoring experience preferred Level 1 trauma experience preferred 2 professional references required at supervisor level or above Additional Information Care for critically ill neuroscience ICU patients including ventilator management and sedation monitoring Travelers and permanent staff must be separated from employment for one year before returning as a traveler Facility has a natural nail policy Facility is a drug and tobacco free workplace, with no smoking permitted on campus Facility will review candidate background checks All candidates will complete required orientation modules through the VCU Learning Exchange, to be finished by the Friday of orientation week RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and approved by the unit manager; no time off granted during the first week of assignment Candidates should not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager Facility verifies candidate graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program American Traveler Job ID P-775679.
