Details Work in the PACU/ASU of a hospital environment Variable day shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday Call rotation required Thursday through Sunday Must be able to respond to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call EPIC EMR used Floating within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed Requirements Active RN license (Maine or Compact) in good standing with the Board of Nursing BLS required within 60 days of hire ACLS and PALS required within 1 year of hire Minimum 2 years of perioperative or PACU experience required BSN preferred CAPA or CPAN certification preferred Competence in airway management, cardiac monitoring, and administration of perioperative and conscious sedation medications Driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required Additional Information Provide efficient, professional, and compassionate nursing care to perioperative patients Direct the activities of paraprofessional staff and ensure effective communication among patients, support persons, and the healthcare team Implement nursing care through the full Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation Comply with hospital and Nursing Department policies and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maine Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension assignments RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract First-time travelers may be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-781679.
