Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Rehabilitation Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Rehabilitation Job Summary We are seeking motivated and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team in the Medical Rehabilitation unit, focusing on diverse patient diagnoses such as cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological conditions. The unit provides critical care to patients, offering an experienced and dedicated team environment. Unit Details The Medical Rehabilitation unit consists of 24 beds and features a multidisciplinary care approach. Each patient is assigned a dedicated care team including a physiatrist, Nurse Practitioner (NP), nurses, therapists, and social workers, all collaborating to develop personalized care plans. Patients engage in therapy for three hours a day, Monday through Friday, with an average length of stay of two weeks. Position Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various rehabilitation needs. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess patient conditions and coordinate care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses. Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and rehabilitation processes. Float to other units as necessary, within scope of practice, to meet facility needs. Schedule Options for either 36 or 48 hours per week. The standard schedule includes three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekday and every other weekend commitments. We are open to discussing block schedule requests during the interview process.

Qualifications Current RN license in West Virginia or Compact RN license. A minimum of two years of RN experience, with at least one year in a rehabilitation specialty preferred.

Experience in a charge role is advantageous. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required; acute care rehabilitation experience is preferred. Must be willing to receive a flu vaccine unless medically exempt.

Additional Information The Medical Rehabilitation unit typically operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 during the day and 1:5 to 1:6 at night.
