Job Title Travel RN – CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU) Location Asheville, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Alternating Weekends Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed cardiovascular ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity) Perform titration of vesicant medications, management of pressors, sedation, and paralytics Manage and monitor patients on ventilators and tracheostomies, including telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring Assist with and maintain PA catheter setup and interpretation, transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and chest tube maintenance Support procedures performed on the unit including central line insertion, bronchoscopy, EGD, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis Document all patient care activities using Cerner ; travelers are expected to float to all areas as needed Required Qualifications Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact license eligibility) Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics Experience with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), Impella, and CRRT Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) CCRN certification is recommended Prior experience with Cerner documentation system Why Join Us Work in a specialized cardiovascular ICU environment utilizing advanced equipment including vents, IABP, Impella, CRRT, Baxter IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring 13-week travel contract offering the opportunity to gain diverse, high-acuity critical care experience in a dynamic clinical setting Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 797746.
