Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: As needed Unit: Acute-care medical-surgical unit with approximately 44 beds Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6 Charting: MEDITECH experience preferred but not required Orientation: One week of general orientation, including electronic medical record training, plus two unit-specific orientation days Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs Med/Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification from the American Heart Association Experience caring for acute-care patient populations and monitoring telemetry Ability to meet the facility’s 75-mile travel eligibility requirement based on the address listed on the traveler’s driver’s license Flexibility to float to other acute-care and cardiac units as needed Medical-Surgical Nursing Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in an acute-care setting Perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate promptly with providers and the interdisciplinary care team Monitor patients requiring telemetry and respond appropriately to clinical changes Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans accurately in MEDITECH Collaborate with nursing assistants, providers, therapy teams, and other healthcare professionals to support quality outcomes Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning Float to acute-care or cardiac units when needed and care for medical patients or acute-care holds Apply now for this Georgia travel nursing opportunity and join a collaborative acute-care healthcare team in Albany.
