Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) setting within a teaching hospital Patient population includes telemetry, neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and plastics cases Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30, 36 hours per week Floating required within the OSU hospital system Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PCA management, and isolation precaution/PPE protocols Experience with arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, cardiac/vasoactive drip management, wound care/wound vac, insulin drip titration, and ortho trauma/total joint care preferred 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor-level leader and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide nursing care for PCU patients requiring close monitoring and stepdown-level interventions Collaborate with the care team to manage complex cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions Work within a teaching hospital environment supporting a wide range of specialty units First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after a 6-month separation from the facility Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate Candidates must promptly complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements upon contract signing to avoid processing delays American Traveler Job ID P-772928.
