Details Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00) 52-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week 3 weekends required per six-week schedule Every other holiday required, including 2 of the 3 winter holidays May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required Epic charting experience required Previous charge nurse experience preferred Trauma Level I experience preferred Pediatric cardiac experience a plus BSN preferred Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal care Skills may include ventilator management, arterial line management, CRRT, EVD care, and administration of emergency medications Floating required within scope of practice as needed by the facility Previous UVA Health employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning as a traveler External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility Maximum of 40 hours RTO per contract, with no time off approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment First-time travelers are not considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-774378.
