Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Location Brownwood, TX | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week considered | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit in an acute care setting Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care across 12-hour day shifts Participate in on-call rotation — expected one on-call shift per 6-week schedule Fulfill weekend shift expectations — expected 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday considered weekend shifts) Complete required orientation modules during onboarding (non-billable, averaging 6–8 hours) Ensure all required documentation and compliance items are submitted by established deadlines Required Qualifications Active RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing required Must pass a facility-administered drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions — candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could produce a positive result Must be available to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a documented plan in place Candidates must reside at least 150 miles from the facility to be eligible (considered on a case-by-case basis at 50 miles or more) Previous permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Preferred Experience / Skills Prior travel nursing experience preferred Experience with Altera charting system preferred, but not required Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a supportive Medical Surgical environment with a consistent and structured 6-week scheduling model Quick start timeline with an anticipated start date within the next 3–5 weeks Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 799204.
