The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit specializing in orthopedic, urology, and neuro patients.

Shift Information Shift Type: Nights Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required.

Unit Information Unit Type: Telemetry Number of Beds: 29 Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4-5 Nights: 1:5-6 Common Diagnoses: Orthopedic Trauma (fractures, joint replacements) Vascular (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy) Urology (TURP, TURBT, continuous bladder irrigation) Neuro-spine (laminectomy, fusion) OBGYN Oncology (TAH/OBS)

Acute Medical cases Required Qualifications Experience: 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience Certifications: Current BLS (AHA) certification required Job Responsibilities Titrate medication drips, such as heparin, following a prescribed nomogram. Collaborate with telemetry technicians who monitor heart rhythms; RNs are not required to read strips. Participate in patient care alongside Nursing Assistants. Manage RT equipment, including CPAP and BIPAP, with RT support available. Float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units as needed. Complete orientation involving 1 day of computer training and 1-2 days of precepted floor orientation.
