Job Title Registered Nurse – Emergency Room Location Colorado Springs, CO | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department managing 35 patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Manage and monitor common presentations including abdominal pain, chest pain, dyspnea, headache, fever, and traumatic injuries Administer and monitor common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia agents Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems in collaboration with on-site RT Perform and/or assist with lab draws, triage, and care within dedicated psych/seclusion rooms and Fast Track areas Maintain all required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely Ability to meet weekend requirements, with an expected minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week scheduling period Willingness to meet holiday requirements and potential floating needs within the designated zone as determined by the nurse manager Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience in a Level IV Trauma Center or comparable emergency department setting Familiarity with self-scheduling and block scheduling systems Experience with cardiac monitoring, triage workflows, and high-acuity patient populations Comfort working alongside charge nurses, nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and respiratory therapy staff in a collaborative team environment Why Join Us Work in a well-supported Emergency Department featuring 24/7 in-house security, on-site respiratory therapy around the clock, a dedicated Fast Track area, and separate triage and psych/seclusion rooms Enjoy scheduling flexibility through self-scheduling and block scheduling options within a structured and equitable staffing model Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 798893.
