Details Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Level I trauma teaching hospital Patient ratio of 1:2-3 13-week assignment Day shift (0700-1930) or night shift (1900-0730), 4x12 hour shifts Every other weekend required, with some holiday coverage No on-call requirements Floating required as needed Uses Epic EMR system Requirements Active RN license (WI or Compact) required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years Level I trauma experience required Epic EMR experience required, within the past 12 months preferred Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required Cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable unit experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Must pass a telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular patients, including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and perform IV therapy and blood product administration Care for ventilated patients including BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and manage continuous IV sedation Manage CVVHD/CRRT for patients with acute or chronic renal failure Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted First-time travelers will not be considered for this role References are not required for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-772316.
