Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Wound Care Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Assess, evaluate, and document patients' wounds and skin integrity. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans. Perform wound care treatments, dressing changes, and other specialized nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote optimal healing. Educate patients and families on wound care management, prevention, and follow-up care. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed. Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years clinical nursing practice. Demonstrated competency in area of expertise.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years related experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse; Board certification as a Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (CWON).

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Completion of a U.S.-based Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN)-accredited WOC or Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program. REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
