Details Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00 Weekend shifts required Floating required to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed Patient ratio of 1:2 Epic charting system experience required Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management Experience with care of ventilated patients and respiratory/thoracic conditions Neurological skills required including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Additional Information Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neuro patients, including post-surgical and trauma cases Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for this position Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-764061.
