Unit Information Location: Asheville, NC Floor: 5th floor Building: Owen Heart Center General Information Number of Beds: 40 Staffing: Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Bedside Nurses, 4 Patient Care Technicians, 1 Unit Secretary Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 Bedside Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians Patient Ratios: 1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio Patient Population: Patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Myocardial Infarction (MI), Chest Pain (CP), Arrhythmias, Pulmonary Hypertension, Valvular Disease, Endocarditis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), post Cardiac Catheterization/Stent, post Pacemaker/Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD)/Ablation.

Equipment Used: Zoll Monitor, Baxter Pump, Lift Equipment, Bladder Scanner Electronic Medical Record System: Cerner Qualifications Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant clinical setting.

Required Skills: Stepdown or Progressive Care experience Telemetry experience Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (e.g., Nitroglycerine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin drip, Heparin, Bumex/Lasix)

Preferred Skills: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)

Relief Charge experience Typical Procedures: Bedside Cardioversion Personality Fit Ideal candidates will have a flexible attitude, demonstrate compassion, and be great team players.

Certifications Required BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Floating Areas Responsibilities may include floating to all MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID units, and ER holding areas as needed.
