Details ICU setting with experience in Medical, Neuro, Surgical, and Trauma ICU populations Typical patient ratio of 1:2-3 Night shift schedule of 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract Floating required to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held 48-hour contracts available with overtime billed after 48 hours Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active Virginia or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association only) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Minimum three years of critical care experience preferred Proficiency in Epic EMR required Strong neuro critical care experience required Skilled in ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia recognition and management Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drips, and emergency medications Experience managing CVA/acute stroke, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical patients No prior license or background history issues permitted No PAPR accommodation available; history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including neuro, surgical, trauma, and medical cases EKG proficiency testing required with a passing score of 80% or higher, no remediation available Three hours of pre-start orientation modules required and billable Local RN candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position Required time off must be submitted in advance for review and approval on a case-by-case basis American Traveler Job ID P-777391.
