The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a Med-Surg/Oncology unit, ensuring their comfort, safety, and recovery. Unit Information The unit specializes in Medical Surgical care, with a focus on post-operative interventions for oncology patients. Our 21-bed unit features a supportive environment designed to promote patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans. Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including titration of specific drips such as heparin, lidocaine, and TPN. Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions. Participate in patient education and discharge planning. Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Follow safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. A minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in a medical surgical/oncology setting preferred.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Experience in accurate documentation and patient-centered care.

Shift Information Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend; 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.

Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays as needed.

Additional Information Floating requirements may occur, limited to medical/surgical units only. All staff must comply with the fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited within patient care areas. Complete an orientation and pass an open-book exam related to skills learned.
