Details Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a hospital Adult patient population with high-acuity, multisystem conditions Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Every other weekend required Floating to other units within the health system may be required based on need Epic EMR used Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of ICU/MICU experience required Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in ventilator management, arterial/central/PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade Competent in CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition Experience with hypothermia protocol, stroke and neuro care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation Skilled in wound vac management, isolation precautions, and infection prevention Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide comprehensive critical care to adult MICU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic management Navy blue scrubs required Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines Those outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Locals accepted at the same pay rate Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system First-time travelers are not considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-765142.
