Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Pediatric ER Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric ER Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a pediatric emergency department or a combined adult/pediatric emergency department, with a strong focus on patient care and safety. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department. Manage patient ratios of 1:4, with the potential for increased ratios during high census periods. Perform triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and initiate IVs as needed. Interpret 12-lead ECGs and assess cardiac dysrhythmias. Float to pediatric admission floors as per staffing needs.

Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with a minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience.

Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, ENPC. COVID-19 vaccination required, with exemptions accepted. Strong experience in pediatric emergency care is preferred. Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed for staffing purposes. Work Schedule This position involves 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with a minimum guarantee of 36 hours per week. Travelers may be expected to work during weekends and may not be guaranteed block scheduling. Additional Requirements Travelers will be allowed to take time off, but requests for greater than 7 days must receive prior approval. The facility may call off staff up to three times throughout a 13-week assignment. A 6-month break is required between consecutive assignments with the same organization. Unit Details The Pediatric Emergency Department provides care in a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital setting. Staff are expected to handle high patient volumes effectively while maintaining safety and comfort in care delivery. Parking and Facilities No parking fees for staff.
