Job Title Registered Nurse – PACU Location Abilene, TX | Outpatient Surgery Center Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 4x10 or 5x8 shifts considered | 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | No call, no weekends, no holidays Key Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring for patients recovering from surgical procedures in an outpatient surgery center setting Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care for PACU patients across varying acuity levels Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe and timely patient transitions through the recovery process Monitor and document patient responses to anesthesia and intervene appropriately for complications or changes in condition Support pediatric patient recovery as needed, applying age-appropriate assessment and care techniques Required Qualifications Active RN license in hand required at time of submittal Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required Current, valid certifications required — verification will be conducted Must reside more than 150 miles from the facility to be eligible (local candidates are not accepted) Previous permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Candidates must be able to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a documented plan in place within that timeframe Preferred Experience / Skills Pediatric PACU experience strongly preferred Prior travel nursing experience preferred Experience with Altera charting system preferred, though not required Why Join Us Enjoy a predictable daytime schedule with no call, no weekend, and no holiday requirements Work in a focused outpatient surgery environment with a streamlined, supportive care team Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 800992.
