Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Correctional Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Behavioral Health / Correctional Nursing | Evenings Start Date: November 16, 2026 Orientation Date: November 16, 2026 Contract Length: 16 weeks Shift: Evenings, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM Schedule: 5x8s Hours: 40 hours per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 16-week assignment providing nursing care in a juvenile behavioral health and correctional setting. The ideal candidate has recent clinical experience in psychiatric/behavioral health, medical-surgical nursing, emergency room nursing, or correctional healthcare. Candidates must be comfortable working independently, completing clinical assessments and blood draws, and making timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Perform patient assessments and evaluate changes in clinical condition. Complete nursing triage and determine appropriate interventions. Perform blood draws and other nursing procedures within scope of practice.

Provide nursing care to patients with behavioral health and medical needs. Recognize and respond to urgent clinical concerns. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate with the healthcare team.

Adapt to changing patient needs while exercising sound clinical judgment. Required Qualifications Active California RN license. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in at least one of the following: Psychiatric or behavioral health Medical-surgical nursing Correctional healthcare Emergency room nursing Recent experience within the last 1–2 years in one or more of the qualifying areas preferred.

Proficient in blood draws, clinical assessments, and triage. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions. Travel experience is not required.

Required Certifications BLS MAB or CPI LA Fire Card Life Safety Card issued for the City of Los Angeles Candidates must complete the required LA County Employee Health Clearance before the assignment start date.
