This is a contract position with a shift from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM. The position requires a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Location San Antonio, TX Unit Highlights Unit: CVICU Shift Details: Rotating shifts from 7 AM to 7:30 PM and 7 PM to 7:30 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Floating Policy: All travelers are required to float; please discuss this during the interview process. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the CVICU setting. Monitor hemodynamic status and manage ventilators. Perform post-operative care, including CABG and VAD patients. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and implement patient care plans. Document patient information using the Meditech system.

Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required. Current and active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted). ACLS and BLS certifications are required. NIH Stroke Scale certification is mandatory.

Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines. Knowledge of ventilator management is essential. Preferred Skills Exposure to intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry systems is preferred. Dress Code and Professional Appearance Scrub color for RNs: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket.

Nail policy: Clean and healthy nails.

Hair: Neat and clean, with no extreme styles or colors. Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible tattoos may be addressed individually. Visible piercings other than in the ears are prohibited. Policies and Guidelines Attendance policies require punctuality; late clock-ins may be considered tardy.
