Job Details Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit Location: Athens, TX 75751 Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Job Shift: 3x12-hour nights Shift Duration: 12 hours Hours Per Week: 36 Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 10/19/2026 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460 - $1,540 Patient Ratio: 1:6 Charting System: Epic Weekend Coverage: Required Location Highlight: East Texas nursing jobs / Texas healthcare jobs Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred Travel nursing experience preferred Current ACLS and BLS certifications Epic charting experience required Strong experience managing dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry patient care Ability to work effectively with adult and geriatric patient populations Responsibilities Deliver safe, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care to patients with a variety of acute medical conditions Monitor and assess patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, sepsis, AKI, chest pain, cellulitis, UTI, and respiratory failure/COPD Interpret dysrhythmias and support ongoing cardiac monitoring on a telemetry unit Administer nursing interventions while maintaining infection prevention and isolation standards Manage peripheral lines and assist with non-invasive airway support as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, therapy, and interpretation services Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate patient status changes promptly Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced hospital nursing setting while supporting a strong patient experience Apply now for this Med/Surg travel RN opportunity in Athens, Texas, and take the next step in your healthcare career today.
