ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure eligible for practice in Massachusetts At least 2 years of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Epic electronic medical record experience Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and complete a 36-hour weekly schedule Comfort with floating to another nearby facility when operationally needed Ability to successfully complete required orientation and clinical competency assessments ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns. Administer medications and treatments, manage complex care plans, and monitor patient responses. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in Epic. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and critical care nursing standards. Adapt to changing patient acuity and provide care at a nearby facility when floating is required.
