Details Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:4 Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM 36 hours per week Floating required Weekend shifts required Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of recent experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic charting experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level I experience preferred Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias Experience with respiratory care including ventilated patients, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management preferred Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols preferred Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred Experience with rapid response and code team protocols preferred Additional Information Provide care for cardiac telemetry and intermediate/stepdown level patients Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position Not available to candidates residing in the following Texas counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler No travel pairs or groups accepted No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and RTO is not permitted during the first week of orientation First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level American Traveler Job ID P-764059.
