Details Med/Surg Tele unit caring for orthopedic and bariatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC EMR Floating required to other similar units or nearby hospitals as needed based on census Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and oxygen administration via nasal cannula EKG test skills required Additional Information Provide telemetry nursing care to orthopedic and bariatric patient populations Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials Must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with reduced bill rate accepted for 90-99.9 miles Night shift travelers in this specialty must live 50 miles from the contracted campus, with distances under 50 miles ineligible American Traveler Job ID P-767493.
