Job Title Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Neuro Location Nashville, TN | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Expected two weekends (four shifts) per four-week schedule | Projected Start: November 16, 2026 Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio Prioritize and manage care for medical-surgical and neurological patients, including ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system Deliver attentive, compassionate, patient- and family-centered care including bedside shift report and involvement of patients and families in the plan of care Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted RN license BLS certification (required) Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience Proficiency with IV insertion, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes Ability to float per unit policy; contract/travel staff are first to float and rotate when multiple contract staff are scheduled Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in a neuro or neuro med/surg care setting Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records Experience working in a facility with Stroke, Trauma, or Chest Pain Center certifications Why Join Us Work in a well-supported unit with tech support on both day and night shifts and a unit secretary available during day shift hours Join a facility recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 794805.
