Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Neurology, Multiple Locations. The Registered Nurse provides care for patients with neurological and medical-surgical conditions in an acute-care setting. The role requires strong neurological assessment skills, experience caring for neuro patients, and the ability to support patient care across assigned units.

Job Details Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every-other-weekend coverage and on-call availability are required.

Assignment Dates: 11/23/2026 through 02/22/2027.

Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; compact nursing license in hand at submission; at least 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year of recent experience with neuro patients; electronic health record charting experience; proficiency in neurological nursing skills.

Additional Information: Patient ratios are 1:4. The Registered Nurse may float between assigned units and nearby facilities based on patient-care needs. The role requires care for patients with cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, substance withdrawal, and post-neurosurgical needs, along with isolation precautions, peripheral line management, noninvasive airway management, and rapid response or code-team participation.
