Job Summary and Qualifications Performs superior/quality CT scans under the guidance of a Radiologist on all ages Maintains a safe and therapeutic diagnostic radiological environment based on practice standards, radiation safety guidelines that include monitoring Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities What qualifications you will need: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology Technology LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Registered with the State of Texas Registered with ARRT (Army graduates must take their ARRT registry with in twelve months of their hire date or earlier if mandated by the State of Texas), and Texas (MRT) CT Certification through ARRT preferred Current AHA or ARC BLS provider. The technician will assist physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, operate advanced imaging and monitoring equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety throughout all procedures. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment. General Duties: - Clinical Privileges: Perform duties within the scope authorized by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). - Contract Compliance: Fulfill all responsibilities in accordance with DHA, MTF, and contract requirements. Specific Duties: - Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion, electrophysiology studies) - Prepare and position patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and monitoring throughout procedures - Operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment and imaging systems - Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms; report abnormalities promptly - Record and document patient history, procedural data, and results accurately in electronic systems - Perform equipment quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting - Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection control and safety protocols - Identify anatomical and physiological abnormalities and assist in clinical decision-making - Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and sterilization of instruments and equipment - Maintain supply inventory and coordinate replenishment - Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams - Provide patient education and reassurance before, during, and after procedures - Prioritize workload and respond effectively in emergency/high-pressure situations Qualifications: Degree/Education: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program accredited by CAAHEP Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
