Vascular Access Team nurses may hold the Vascular Access-Board Certified (VA-BC) or the Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) credentials — ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes. The IV Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for patients in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. They demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The RN demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager. The IV RN must exhibit excellent customer relations skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Applicants should possess excellent communication, assessment, documentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize as well as a commitment to work with a culturally diverse population. Strong problem solving skills. IV Therapy RN must be able to insert and maintain all peripheral IVs. Must draw blood from TLC's. Must also be able to maintain central access & ports. Will respond to all code blues and rapid responses. Will perform daily rounds of patients with IV lines.

Cambridge Health Alliance's experienced Surgery team has performed thousands of procedures at some of Boston's finest teaching hospitals. Today, we have recruited highly-regarded surgeons and provide state-of-the-art care in our operating rooms. The department has grown significantly adding skilled surgeons who bring specialized care to our communities. Our most recent initiatives include Orthopedic Trauma, Robotics, Bariatrics and Spine. All of our Surgeons handle routine cases as well as more complex procedures. Whenever possible, we use minimally invasive techniques to reduce the discomfort and recovery time of surgery. Many procedures can now be done on an outpatient basis with patients going home the same day. These procedures including Endoscopy are performed at Cambridge and Everett hospitals, and outpatient Endoscopy is performed at our Somerville Campus. This is a combination PACU/OR role. The PACU/OR RN Clinical Leader will provide and oversee quality patient care according to Cambridge Health Alliance standards of nursing practice and collaborates with the nurse manager to foster skilled and quality evidence-based nursing care, unit organization and cohesiveness, and development of staff. The clinical leader assists the nurse manager in the overall coordination of the clinical area by assuming the responsibility and accountability for daily operations. The clinical leader assumes responsibility for and serves as a resource to the staff in clinical practice, staff development, clinical leadership, and professional growth in consistent collaboration with the nurse manager. They are responsible for providing functional direction to members of the health care team while optimizing available resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The clinical leader demonstrates advanced nursing skills in their respective clinical specialty, and possesses the necessary leadership skills to direct performance improvement initiatives in collaboration leadership, and other patient care areas.
