Te Whiwhinga mahi - The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Medical Lead to provide clinical leadership and strategic direction within our University Health and Counselling Service.
This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical excellence with leadership in a purpose-driven environment that places student wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. As Medical Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the delivery of primary healthcare services for a diverse student population while supporting a team of dedicated clinicians to provide outstanding patient-centred care.
Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will contribute to service planning, clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of a positive, collaborative, and high-performing clinical culture.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student health outcomes while helping shape the future of healthcare delivery within one of New Zealand’s leading universities.

The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice, works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager and the Paediatric Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care on a designated shift, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
Responsibilities:
Deliver acute inpatient-based mental health care coordination to paediatric consumers of the service, which includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, active, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using arrange of modalities and techniques, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), with focus collaboration with family and carers and trauma informed care.
Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures are met to promote a consumer-focused model of care, according to best practice principles.
Assist the Nurse Unit Manager and the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the management and coordination of resources as required.

Our Practice has a large and loyal patient base that continues to grow on a daily basis. We require more General Practitioners to cater for the demand in our growing community to provide quality patient care.
Currently we are looking for a General Practitioner who shares our commitment to excellence in Patient Care
Our Practice offers an attractive remuneration, guarantee to see patients, flexible rostering for the perfect work/life balance. We are fully accredited, fully equipped with Treatment Room and provide Nursing Support 6 days per week. Pathology on site and Allied Health Support Services. Experienced and Collaborative colleagues and Staff,
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting examinations and questioning patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses and recording patients' medical information
Ordering laboratory test, X-Rays and other diagnostics procedures and interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis
Providing overall care for patients and prescribing and administering treatments, medications and other remedial measures
Monitoring patient progress and response to treatments
Advising on diet, exercise and other habits that aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders
Referring patients to and exchanging medical information with specialist medical practitioners
Reporting births, deaths and notifiable diseases to government authorities
Arranging the admission of patients to hospitals when necessary
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience as a GP
Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
