Home Manager Job Opportunity | Pottersway House, Church Lawton near Alsager | 60 beds £70,000-£80,000 per annum Annual Bonus Private Medical Insurance There is a particular satisfaction in leading a new care home as it finds its feet: helping a team grow in confidence, welcoming new residents and seeing a community take shape. At Pottersway House, that journey is already underway. Opened in April 2025, our 60-bed home in Church Lawton, near Alsager, provides nursing, residential and dementia care in a purpose-built, luxury setting.
With occupancy at 70%, we are looking for an experienced nurse-qualified Home Manager to build on the progress made and lead the home through its next stage of growth. Contract £75,000-£85,000 per annum Opportunity to earn up to 40% of salary through an annual bonus Private Medical Insurance Company pension Generous annual leave Current Performance Snapshot 60 beds - 70% occupancy | Zero-agency usage | Not yet inspected by CQC The Role You will take responsibility for the leadership and performance of Pottersway House, combining strong clinical oversight with a clear understanding of what helps a growing home succeed. Your priorities will be to increase occupancy, develop the Head of Department team and strengthen relationships with families, professionals and the wider community.
As a visible and approachable leader, you will help colleagues take ownership of their work, develop their skills and maintain consistent standards. You will establish clear expectations around care, governance and resident outcomes, ensuring that the home is ready for its first CQC inspection through the quality of its everyday practice. You will also lead the commercial performance of the home, using occupancy, average weekly fee, budgets and operating performance to inform decisions.
Building local relationships and following through on enquiries will be central to growth, alongside delivering an experience that gives residents and families confidence in their choice.
About You You will be a qualified nurse with care home management experience and a strong clinical background.
Experience of leading nursing, residential and dementia services, sound CQC knowledge and a strong inspection track record are important. Commissioning experience, or experience of developing a relatively new home, would be particularly valuable. You will bring evidence of growing occupancy, developing teams and improving results.
You should understand average weekly fee and EBITDARM, and be able to use performance information to guide decisions while maintaining high standards of care. Your leadership style will be empowering and inclusive. Honest, sincere and approachable, you will give colleagues a voice, help them grow and hold them accountable with clarity and fairness.
We are looking for someone who brings energy, a practical can-do attitude and a sense of enjoyment to the home, together with an eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Why Lead Pottersway House The current Home Manager is moving into a regional support role, creating an opportunity to take forward a home with an established start and room to grow. Pottersway House offers 60 en-suite bedrooms, private gardens, a café, cinema and hair salon, giving residents a comfortable setting in which to enjoy daily life.
Your role will be to ensure that the care, relationships and atmosphere match the quality of those surroundings. With the first CQC inspection ahead, you will have the opportunity to shape the home's standards and reputation as it develops. For a manager who enjoys helping people succeed and growing a service, this is a chance to make a lasting contribution.
Why Care Concern Group Care Concern Group is a family-owned care provider with homes across the UK. We give our Home Managers the support to lead confidently, develop their teams and deliver high-quality care, with opportunities to progress as our organisation grows. Our 5 core values Trust | Respect | Passion | Kindness | Inclusivity These values guide how we care for residents, support our colleagues and lead our homes.
We are looking for someone who brings them to life through everyday decisions, conversations and actions. Bring your clinical experience and leadership to Pottersway House and help write its next chapter. If you are ready to develop a team, grow a home and create a community residents are proud to be part of, we would love to hear from you.
